Cornish Moo was started by dairy farmer and entrepreneur Gemma Smale-Rowland. With the vision to provide milk as it used to be and to reduce plastic waste. The purpose of Cornish Moo is to reconnect people with where their food comes from and to get an understanding of what local, good produce should taste like. The business has already won a number of awards, including being crowned Champion Dairy Product, Best Branding and Reserve Supreme Champion by Taste of the West, a winner at The Cream Awards, the highest accolade possible of 3 stars at the Great Taste Awards and shortlisted for the Great British Food Awards. Gemma was also recently named runner up in the Dairy Industry Woman of the Year awards.

Our approach

Hutch met with Gemma at the very beginning of Cornish Moo. The quality of the produce is undeniable but the challenge Gemma set us was to create a product that could sit in the social world. Can we design an identity and a milk bottle that is Instagrammable? We needed it to be simple, memorable and versatile.
